“Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.'” (Matthew 28:16-20)
“So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, 'If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.'” (John 8:31-32)
At Calvary, we exist to make more and maturing disciples of Jesus Christ.
We believe that discipleship is the process of growing spiritually to become more like Jesus Christ. How do we go about discipleship at Calvary? Simply this: providing a spectrum of activities designed for intentional spiritual growth driven by an ever-evolving curriculum to build a firm foundation on the truth of God’s Word. We use the word intentional purposefully because we believe anything worth pursuing requires intentionality.
One of these activities, to make practical our mission statement, is intentional discipleship relationships. In the journey of moving one step closer to Jesus, we desire for everyone to be in an intentional discipleship relationship to empower them to become all that God has designed them to be. If you wish to learn more about what it means to be discipled or disciple others, we would love to hear from you.
